This is actually a rack card. The kind that sits in a small divider with about 200 other rack cards around them - all trying to get attention. I digitally added the butterfly wings to the woman and the butterfly-patterned background, then worked on the colors to give a real, soft and comfortable yet vibrant personality to this design. It definitely gets attention.

Tattoo studios like ads that are dynamic and cool. They also like outer space stuff, so what could be better than a whole tattooed planet with bright reds and golds that look really cool? The client was very pleased with this ad as well as a poster I designed using many of the same style. To check out the poster, click here.

Urban Renewal
Stylish, chic and extravagant - a European-style hair salon would have it no ther way. I used the spiral from the logo, enlarged it , and colored it outrageously in cyan and chartreuse. Then I dropped in a scan of fake leopard skin fabric for the background and now we have stylish, chic, and extravagant!
Ken Wilson Ford
Ken Wilson Ford
This ad was assembled using stock photography provided by the Ford company. Lay it out with interactivity between the photos and designed text and we have an ad that's ready for the beautiful, rugged outdoors - just like the vehicle being advertised.
Two Moons
Two Moons Ad
The personality of this fun cinema and taphouse really comes out in this ad. I think of a late-night, drive-in movie theatre when I look at this ad. Notice how the prices for beer and movies are designed - they look like movie ticket stubs.
Basta!
Basta! Ad
This ad was designed to accomodate the client's wishes to include a partial menu right in the ad. I felt like there was too much information, but I came up with a solution that separates the visual elements from the abundant text to help make it easier to read this ad. It looks like a menu on a table in an Italian restaurant. Of course, it IS an Italian restaurant so that's very appropriate
Discover Dining
Discover Dining Ad
This ad was overloaded with text because the client wanted to list ALL of the businesses involved with their coupon booklet. I used the same technique as the Basta! ad, that is, to strongly separate the visual elements from the huge text area. It's almost like two ads in one - one side is full of information and the other side provides the visual appeal. I still wanted some integration between the elements, so I overlapped them. With as much text as there was, it was hard to make it all fit in order to satisfy the client's desires as well satisfy the designer's desires - but I think the solution worked well.
Fantasy World
Fantasy World Ad
I approach all ad designs with the same amount of respect. I want to capture the personality of the business as well as get the point of the ad across regardless of the subject matter. Well, it was hard to come up with an ad for an adult shop that was erotic as well as tasteful, but that's what I accomplished.
